Yesterday was amazing! I had a shoot with Photographer J. Guarino, and Ashley Miller my stylist. The theme for the shoot was organic style fabrics of the vintage type with a new wave vibe. The clothing was provided by Oilily boutique, and I wanted to buy every outfit. We ended up shooting in an area of Brooklyn called Redhook. This area looks so completely out of place that is surreal. Its this Cape Cod style town, with cobble stone streets, a marina down by the water which warehouse are turned into lofts and show rooms, and there is a market. There are also flowers everywhere, in barrels and growing out of empty squares in the sidewalk. We even got to shoot in a flower nursery which if you know anything about me you know Im a huge horticulture nerd and know the names and how to grow most flowers, therefore my eyes were as big as a child the whole time. Im am in love with Redhook, and I want an all while studio where I wake up and see the water and the Statue of Liberty out my window. More about the shoot.
1- Justin and Ashley are amazing!
2- We had a blast including me getting pushed in a shopping cart for most of the shoot ( which I will post pictures of later)
3- We are all huge nerds, love fruits and vegtables and were introduced to this Pumpkin Loaf that Justin was so exited about
4- We love Justin because Justin loves tiny things. Tiny grapes, Tiny bites, Tiny Tunnels, and Tiny loafs.
Who cant love all that.
Now funny part is remember the kid from the Subway earlier in the week.... I was shooting by an abandon 70's subway train and guess who walks by. Random. Creepy.. Redhook is like an undiscovered place not a lot of people know about. Not a common place you would go, who would have ever thought I would see Subway Sirius boy there of all places. Trippy.
( Ill post photos later )

Free drinks? I'm there. Night At the Eldridge (not to be confused with a night at the Roxbury)
After a day at Ashley's singing like Ariel in the wet sauna, it seemed like a good idea to go out. We decided to go to a lounge called Eldridge that Kylie invited us to. We started the night by meeting up with LeAnn and going to Ko the sushi resturant. After much debating by 1:30 we were ready to go out lol but had no clue where we were going and how to get to Eldrige (because we were so far uptown). We ended up hopping the bus, then taking the 4, while wating 30 mins for the train 2 guys came up to Ashley, LeAnn and I asking if we had gum. When we said no and looked at them funny they said we will pay you 10 bucks for some. First thoughts running through my head were either they have really bad cotton mouth, or they have really bad pickup lines, and second thought was to run away. Apparently LeAnn and Ashley's thoughts weren't the same and they kept letting them follow them into the train. They literally cornered the girls and were badgering them to get info on where we were going. They go ask our friend (I was standing up away from these creepers)and I go "we are going where ever you aren't." ( In my head I'm thinking I'm so over this shit)At the next stop when a seat was available I went to sit by this normal looking kid, he was holding a Sirius microphone, and we started talking laughing at these boys terrorizing my friends, like everyone else on the train was as well. We went on to say how they tried to pick the girls up by asking for gum and how this guy should have went up to the girls with his microphone and asked them to hold it while he went to go get gum which would have been equally maybe even increasingly lame.(Dont forget about this Siruis holding boy from the subway because he will come into the picture later in my blog). Meanwhile these Ed Hardy wearing Guido's are asking to take them out to ice cream ( its 2 am) and saying they want to put rocks on their fingers. Thank god I escaped that. Needless to say we got to the general area then got lost and took a taxi cab two streets away. (3 blondes what do you expect) When we got there there was about 10 people in the bar, but It was low key and I didn't really mind it. We had good friends, a table and a free bottle and that's what I call a night. Until the way out when we feared for out lives and the bouncer had to escort us to the taxi since the bloods and the kryps were out to play.
And I have to say the next day (keep in mind we went to bed at 6, and woke up at 8) was one of the biggest walks of shame ever, and one of the longest trips home.

Ok soo..

I really have been neglecting my blog a lot. Sorry to the people that actually read this to keep up with the random shit in my life ( and im sure this group consists of no one , so in retrospect im not sorry) Anyways down to business. I have done 5 shoots since the last post. ( Abiel Ruiz, Alejandro Duran, Sidney Etienne, Berman Fenelus, and yesterday with Justin Guarino) I feel like lately every photographer I meet is very interesting and Im very infatuated with learning about how they got to where they are now, maybe this is partly because Im newly trying to make my way in the industry myself. Its all just fascinating. The shoot with Alejandro was a blast because we used smoke bombs which I didn't even know existed, and breathing that shit in is well just as fun. Half the shoot was filled with me and Crystal dancing to Latin music and me getting tangled in my constructed deconstructed designer gown. Later that week I shot with Sidney, it was very experimental but we vibed very well especially while talking about the fake snow Sidney got from the prop shop. ( He let me take some home...I played with it all day..but don't tell I may seem more lame) That night I shoot with Abiel and the highlight was definitely having fun with Falafel and he thought Falafel was as cool as I do. ( For you that don't know who Falafel is, he is my Asian glittery good luck house cat who me and my sister got at Salvation Army in dirty Jersey City) The next day I shot with Berman and his team in this dude Ezra's loft, Ezra collects vintage Ralph Lauren garments and I got to wear them for the shoot which the theme was me dressing up in my boyfriends work shirts and raiding his closet.

In front of a camera you can be anything, Including a girl who has Ba-donk when you clearly do not

I love studio shoots because you can really get a vibe for the people your working with in a closed off space. This shoot was for my show package, and I have to say it went successfully. I got to play an Arthur game online with a little kid and the fact that Arthur is still around and kid loves that show as much as I did made me have a lot to smile about in my shots :P

Nigels Bday Party Before Brazil and you need to say it Braa-Ziele!)

NIGHT OF SHENANIGANS
C.C Makeup Artist Extraordinaire and I drove to China Town to Nigels Bday Dinner, and got lost for 2 hours. Finally we made it , and met some crazy azz people including our Vietnamese waiter who knew what every number on the menu was. (You never think people that work min. wage jobs are geniuses but they are) Then the Shenanigans started on the way to the bar, Von. I got ID'd for the first time in my life which was ironic because I was the tallest person in the place. But I told the bouncer look I dont have my ID and he says what do you have and I said... I got a triple A card and a Credit card which do you want... I also said I have boobs too (I didnt really say that). So he takes my triple A card and looks at it like itl have any info on it lol. So I got shitty and had a blast dancing all night, and I missed my bus back home, and have no clue how to get back home. Nigel, Dave and Chris put me in a Cab and tell him where Im going, and I get lost with this man for 2 hours telling him how Im pore and eat jello all day and I tried eating a package of duck sauce earlier that day. (you know when your drunk and you cling onto saying that one thing.. Duck sauce was mine that night) So finally we find the house, and Im creeped out because the driver keeps asking me if I want to go get food, and I try to swipe my card and his machine doesnt work. He drives away from my house to try to take me to get cash and pretty sure he wanted to kidnap me. Finally w/o paying him I got back to the area a block away and walked and just left him contact info for me to pay him which was phony because he scared me.... Later the next week Im pretty sure he was watching my house..... Shenanigans
Nigel Ho-Sang The Man. The Infamous. The Dreds

After the Poodle hair didnt get good feedback the Photographer Nigel Ho-Sang found me, and booked me to do a War story. He hooked me up with a hairstylist who is the bomb, her name is Helen and she is from Bumble and Bumble uptown, they clearly have thier shit together at that one. And not more than a day or two later I got my hair cut. I went from Poodle to Edie Sedgwick in about 30mins flat, and the rest is history. The shoot was an amzing time, my first time in the Bronx at the Park with kick ass people. Nigel is a genius and is an all around fun person. He left me for Brazil but he will be back and more magic with the team will happen soon.
Shoot with Anthony Parmelee/ being in the City too Green to know my own name

So when I first got into the city the first thing I did was get my hair cut, at Bumble and Bumble Downtown (or shall I call them Bumble and Bumble Fuck). I told the hairstylist who I will not name that I want an Edgy hair cut and he said to me " What does that mean?" This guy works in Fashion and works Fashion week doing hair and he doesnt know what Edgy means. So I ended up with a Bob...... but I worked it for a little while lol. With my Poodle hair cut I cranked out a awesome shoot with Anthony Parmelee. He is a baller guy, and as he likes to say "boy band sexy" as well.
NYC- Adventures from the Beginning

So let me tell you a little story about this girl .. She lived the normal life of an upstate New Yorker and spent her day working 2 jobs some days 3. But she never fit in...she was just to wacky, and didnt have a small town soul. So she finally decided after trying to model since the age of 16 to pack up and move to NYC on a whim to really persue it. With very little money and no connections. This is the beginning of my;JayLynn's life. And the recreation began. I am very mysterious you never know where Ill pop up, or too much information other than what Ive said above. Most people dont know my age, or even my real name. All you need to know are the important stuff like.... you want to know me, Im interesting, Im real, Im wacky eccentric, lovable, quirky and captivating. Ive been told that by one look I can entrance somebody ( and If you cannot tell yet, I am sarcastic to the max). But on a serious note, I have been called a Muse, fascinating, and memorising since my arrival to this city. I believe its because I am myself if you dont like it you change I wont. And its Jay(Lin) not Jay(Leen) lol
